Apartment 106: settle in and stay a while
Apartment 106 really shows its worth over two or three weeks. Set one flight up from the beach, it belongs to Dolce Beach Residence, where the whole beachfront building stands straight on Simpson Bay’s sand, and it gives you all you need to settle in like a local rather than a tourist.
A kitchen you will actually use
Longer stays call for proper cooking, and the kitchen is ready for it, with an oven and a full set of equipment. Buy fish from the harbour, fruit and vegetables from the supermarket down the road, and cook as you would at home. Next door, the living room gives you space to spread out, and the bedroom, with a king-size bed, stays calm and separate. The apartment also has a bathroom and a guest toilet. It sleeps two.
A balcony just above the beach
From this low level the beach feels like an extension of the apartment. Answer a few emails with the sea in front of you, then close the laptop and walk down for a swim.
Routines at Dolce Beach Residence
A week in, most guests have found their rhythm: a session at the shared gym, which has a room inside and a training space outdoors, then a few lengths in the shared pool laid out on the beach. The lobby team gets to know you, and they are the ones to ask for anything practical.
The concierge, for everything else
A car for a few days of exploring, a boat trip around the island, a dinner reservation or a taxi from the airport on arrival day: just let the concierge know.
Living in Simpson Bay
This is a neighbourhood where you can do almost everything on foot: grocery runs, a coffee at the marina, dinner at a beach bar. Princess Juliana airport is some ten minutes’ drive. Maho Beach sits just up the road, while the sheltered sand at Mullet Bay and Cupecoy tends to become your usual weekend spot. Philipsburg and Marigot are easy to visit when you want a change.
Practical information
Long-stay guests can move in at 4 pm and leave before 11 am on departure day. Fresh bedding, towels and a reliable Wi-Fi line are all provided for the whole stay.
