Apartment 307 suits guests who love food as much as the beach. This third-level one-bedroom belongs to Dolce Beach Residence, the beachfront address whose pool deck spills right onto Simpson Bay’s sand, and it comes with a kitchen that makes cooking a pleasure and a balcony that turns every meal into an occasion.
A kitchen worth unpacking for
The kitchen is fully equipped, oven included, so you can roast a whole fish, bake a gratin or simply make a good omelette. Pick up the catch of the day at the harbour, limes and mangoes at the supermarket, and the rest takes care of itself. The living area leads out to the balcony, while the king-size bedroom stays set apart behind its door. There is one bathroom and a guest toilet, and room for two guests.
A table with a view
From the third level you look straight across the water. Set the table outside as the light fades and eat to the sound of the waves, with the lights of the marinas coming on around the bay.
Between meals

Eating out in Simpson Bay
For food lovers the neighbourhood is a playground: dozens of restaurants and beach bars within walking distance, plus supermarkets and marinas for supplies. Allow ten minutes or so by car from the airport. Nearby Maho Beach draws the plane spotters; Mullet Bay and Cupecoy make lovely picnic spots; and for markets and bakeries, Marigot on the French side is worth the drive, as is Philipsburg.
