Apartment 507 is for couples who measure a good holiday in chapters read rather than sights ticked off. It belongs to level five of Dolce Beach Residence; downstairs, this beachfront building gives straight onto Simpson Bay beach. The beach is a minute away, but up here the pace slows down.
The hours after lunch
Early afternoon is when this apartment is at its best. The sun is high, the beach below is busy, and the balcony offers shade, a light breeze and a view across the water. A book, a glass of something cold, the regular sound of the waves: that is usually enough until the heat eases.
Inside, a calm place to be
The bedroom stands apart, its king-size bed behind a door that shuts out the daylight when a real siesta is called for. The living room is a pleasant spot to spread out, and the kitchen has everything you need, oven included, for a relaxed lunch at home. There is one bathroom and an extra toilet for guests.
When you feel like moving
Late in the day, the shared pool on the beach is quieter and the water is still warm. The sea is right beyond it. For anyone who wants a bit more, the shared gym offers a covered room plus an open-air area looking at the bay. The lobby staff welcome you on arrival and can help at any time.
Leave the organising to us
The concierge can book your ride from the airport, a hire car, a gentle boat trip or snorkelling morning, and a restaurant for the evening, so the only decision left to you is which chair to sit in.
Simpson Bay, at walking pace
A stroll gets you to grocery shops, the marinas, bars on the sand and places for dinner. For a quieter swim, try Mullet Bay or Cupecoy; Maho Beach is nearby, and Philipsburg and Marigot are worth an unhurried day each. Reaching the airport takes some ten minutes by car.
The practical side
You may settle in once it is 4 pm, and we need the place back by 11 am on your final day. Included: sheets, bath towels and a Wi-Fi connection.
