305 – Beachfront Studio with Sea-View Balcony in Simpson Bay
A beachfront studio for two, right on Simpson Bay beach
Description
On an island known for its food, apartment 606 is a good excuse to cook as well as to eat out. You will find it on floor six of Dolce Beach Residence, the beachfront block that sits squarely on Simpson Bay’s sand, with the catch of the day and the local markets never far away.
This is not a kitchenette. The kitchen has every tool plus an oven, enough to roast a whole fish, bake bread for breakfast or put together a long dinner for two. Supermarkets are a short walk from the residence, and the fishermen and market stalls of the island make shopping part of the fun.
The balcony table is where those meals end up. From the sixth level the sea fills the horizon, and as night falls the lights of the boats and the bay come on one by one. It is hard to find a better dining room anywhere on the island.
After a big meal, the king-size bed is waiting in a separate room, well away from the kitchen. With one bathroom and a guest loo, the place stays practical even with friends over for an aperitif.
Mornings can go to the shared gym, divided into a covered space and an outdoor deck turned to the water, then to the shared pool laid out directly on the beach, with the sea a few steps away. The welcome team in the lobby is available throughout your stay.
Simpson Bay has more places to eat and beach bars than you can try in a week, all within walking distance. The concierge will reserve a table, and can also sort out your airport pick-up, a hire car, or a boat and snorkelling trip.
Marigot, on the French side, is known for its market and its cafés; Philipsburg for its long boardwalk. Maho Beach is a few minutes away, as are Mullet Bay and Cupecoy, and the drive to the airport takes roughly ten minutes.
Your room is ready at 4 pm, and you check out by 11 am. The bedding and towels are ours to provide, as is the Wi-Fi.
